It recently received a major makeover and a rescue from the Dumpster! Here it is the not too sad before state. It was wobbly though!
Don’t turn your nose up at shopping from a Dumpster. I find great stuff all the time! With a little TLC you can turn many pieces of Trash to a Treasure.
The table probably got thrown out because the base was really wobbly and unless you felt like spending some quality time with it to keep it stable, it was going to keep on a rockin.
While I had the screw out, I poured some Gorilla Wood Glue down the hole, then put the puzzle pieces of the base back in, each with a layer of glue. I put the screw back in and tightened it as far as it would go. I left it to dry for 24 hours.
The next day it was tight and stable and I flipped it over. I sanded the top to get rid of deep scratches it had. I thought about trying to stain it, but the veneer was so thin and not too attractive, so I went with a paint option instead.
I took it with me for the last Paris Flea Market sale and used it as a demo piece for CeCe Caldwell’s Paints and generate interest in my Workshops. I painted the first layer in Cinco Bayou Moss and the top in Myrtle Beach Sand. I sealed the entire piece with Endurance, you can check out how to apply Endurance with a rag even in this VIDEO.

The piece sold just after I finished it. I also sold some spots in my Paint Made Easy class!
